In Texas, MCF&T when processing their own livestock for personal consumption or direct sales to consumers must comply with specific regulations related to slaughtering and processing. These regulations are primarily governed by Texas Agriculture Code Chapter 148 and Texas Health & Safety Code Chapter 433. Additionally, the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) plays a role in ensuring food safety.
